Scientists develop new compound which kills both types of antibiotic resistant superbugs
A new compound developed by University of Sheffield experts has killed antibiotic resistant bacteria, such as MRSA and E.Coli, during tests
The compound has been able to kill both classes of bacteria, gram-negative and gram-positive
Doctors have not had a new treatment for gram-negative bacteria in the last 50 years, and no potential drugs have entered clinical trials since 2010.
The research could pave the way for much needed new treatments for antibiotic resistant superbugs
