The suit said Charlie stayed with his parents 10 months, doing housework in lieu of paying rent. He was asked to leave after police had to be called to the home in August 2017 for a domestic situation.
In November 2017, WREG reported his parents traveled to their son’s new place in Indiana with his belongings. Charlie claims they did not bring his pornography collection, but instead, the lawsuit states that his parents told him they destroyed it.
According to WREG, the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office was called about the situation. Charlie filed a police report, estimating the value of his collection to be $28,940.72. The prosecutor’s office did not file charges.
A month after filing the report, Charlie began writing to his father via email. According to WREG, Charlie told him, “If you had a problem with my belongings, you should have stated at the time, and I would have gone elsewhere. Instead you choose to keep quiet and behave vindictively.”
The lawsuit said his father responded, “Believe it or not, one reason for why I destroyed your porn was for your own mental and emotional health. I would have done the same if I had found a kilo of crack cocaine. Someday, I hope you will understand.”
